Dear Friends and Fans,
As you all know, our culture and world finds itself in an unprecedented time of disruption, dislocation and tests of character. We hope all of you are coping with these monumental challenges brought on by the health risk of the COVID-19 virus pandemic.
The New Folk Ensemble has had cancellations of our live shows through April. We pray to be back on the boards for the next scheduled show on May 15th as the Woodshed Sessions Returns continues at the Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena, California. We’ve been told that our March 20th and April 10 shows in this series will be rescheduled, as well as our April 18th show at Living Tradition in Anaheim. Our newsletters will keep you up to date, so please subscribe to our mailing list if you are not already on it. The sign-up box is on this website on the right side of the screen.
In the meantime, consider purchasing our newest release “Live at McCabe’s” which was released last fall. The BUY button is also on this website on the right-hand side of your screen. Fans have told me that listening to this CD is just like being at our live show, so it’s a perfect alternative for these troubled times!
Also, I’ve harnessed the power of the internet to continue teaching my private voice lessons through the Zoom videoconferencing portal, and it’s working really well! If you need a new project or pastime and always thought of taking voice lessons but never got around to it, this is a GREAT time to sign up! I’d love to work with you and “see” you from the comforts of our homes! Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can set up a Zoom voice lesson!
Also in the works is something very exciting: The management company Evangeline Presents has begun work on presenting an Easter weekend cyber festival with her stable of artists via Facebook Live! The event will be presented over the dates of April 10th through the 12th. I’ll inform everyone via our newsletters, and on our Facebook page (links are on this website at the top). You can check out Evangeline’s group of fabulous artists here http:\\www.evangelinepresents.com For now, mark your calendars and watch for more details on this great event!
All of you are in my thoughts and prayers daily and please know that The New Folk Ensemble sends you all of our love and support now. Last weekend Steve Rankin and I recorded the video below to celebrate the joys of home, where we are all sheltering and producing and calming ourselves now. The song is Karla Bonoff’s “Home” and we send it out to all of you, all of us, who are sheltering in place: Home. Be well everyone and keep in touch. We’ll see you all in person, before too long, and I can’t wait to hug each and every one of you!
With love and blessings,
